Lauren has designed this garden to highlight the beautiful colors and enticing textures that are possible when perennial plants and ornamental native grasses are planted together. The colors of the long-blooming perennials in this garden are a delightful blend of rose pink, soft orange, coral and blue. Artemisia ‘Seafoam’ and the three grasses give the garden soft textures and winter appeal with their foliage and interesting seed heads.
The “Colors and Textures” Garden is an easy-care, low-maintenance garden that thrives in a wide range of climates. At its best in enriched garden loam soil, this preplanned garden will grow in all but very sandy or wet clay soils and requires low to moderate amounts of irrigation to keep it blooming. It includes 3 each of Melica, Calamagrostis, Sporobolus, Agastache, Artemisia, Lavandula and Penstemon, 1 of Perovskia and 5 Diascia for a total of 27 plants that will cover approximately 70 sq. ft. in the garden.
The “Colors and Textures” Garden comes complete with a care sheet and line drawing showing how to recreate the design in your yard.
